How far along: 39 Weeks
Size of the baby: Around 20 inches and 7.25 lbs. About the size of a mini watermelon.
Total weight gain/loss: Been to a couple of appointments since my 38 week post. Gained 4 pounds at my 38 week appointment and lost 3 pounds at my 39 week appointment. Since I continue to swell in my feet and ankles, the doctor seems to think a lot of the weight fluctuation is water retention. Last week was my last day of work and the swelling has been better since I have been taking it easy and more conscious of drinking a lot of water but if I get out in the heat for too long, forget it!
Maternity clothes: Wearing what I have.
Cravings: Cold beverages: Sangrias, Margaritas, Beer...Come on Alexander!
Symptoms: Sleeping good but I am ready to start getting bad sleep if that means Alexander will be making it near. At my 39 week appointment yesterday I was dilated 2cm and 80% effaced but the problem is, I still am not really having any contractions. They were much more aggressive with their check this last time to see if they could help move things along a little faster. Doctor went ahead and scheduled me for an ultrasound this Thursday morning to check on babies size to see if there is a good reason for induction, along with another aggressive cervix check following the ultrasound. I have been trying to walk everyday, use the bouncy ball, and attempting to perform many other suggested tricks that are supposed to help me into labor. A few that I won't go into detail for obvious reasons! haha. All I can say is that I am Sooo ready to meet our Son and just praying for his health and safe delivery in the upcoming days. I know I need to stop being so impatient but I think being ready for as long as I have has not helped! Seriously the longest pregnancy EVER! Good news is that Mom is on her way as we speak, so having her company will be so nice these next few days.
I think when he does come, he is going to come FAST!!! Just my prediction. :) Love !
