It's Official. We are Moving to Poland!!!

Late July, Josh's Boss had brought up the possibility of a temporary assignment opening up for those in the Land department at Marathon.  Josh has always expressed an interest in working internationally and always looked at it as an opportunity to further his career while getting the chance to travel.

Josh and I never got the chance to study abroad in College and it is something that we both have always regretted.  Traveling has always been a love of mine so when Josh delivered the casual email about whether to apply for a position opening up in Poland I did not hesitate to think "YES!"  Of course my instincts told me this would be an amazing opportunity for my  husbands career and the perfect time to get to live overseas and travel Europe.  But then some sense knocked into me and I started to ask myself all of the obvious questions "How long will we be there?", "Will we be able to afford me quitting my job?",  "What about Mia?", and "What will we do with our house and all our stuff? "  all the questions any responsible person would think of.  I mean this is a huge decision to make and I am not sure I can be apart from all my family and close friends!

Well to our surprise what began as a shot in the dark chance of him getting the position turned into Josh being asked to take the Job.  I am not one to be superstitious but there have been many signs leading our path to Poland and the point is we just couldn't say no.  The assignment is planned for one year and we all know how fast a year goes by.  And the question regarding Mia is obvious,  she comes with us.  Everyone knows I can't live without her and she is the only one that will be able to keep me company while Josh is at work.  Family and friends will just have to make the tortious trip to BEAUTIFUL Poland to visit  us and I am sure I will squeeze a trip back home at some point in the next year.  We are also lucky enough to be friends with a Polish family who I became friends with through work, who just happens to be from Warsaw where we will be living.  They have provided us much comfort during this whole process and have graciously put us in contact with their family living there now. To them we are sooo grateful!!!.  All of the other details we owe a big thanks to Josh's Company. They have treated us well throughout this whole process and made it easy for us to just go for it.

So here I am, all alone writing while Josh is in Poland getting things set up for us to arrive at the end of November.  He will return home before Thanksgiving to finish up a few things here in Houston and we will head up to Tulsa to spend our last days with Family before we are off to Warsaw, Poland.  I must say it is bitter sweet.  So sad to leave my family and friends behind but excited to get out of our comfort zone and embark on a new adventure.

Soo stay tuned my family and friends. I will have a lot more time on my hands and I imagine I will have sooo many more beautiful pictures to share and stories to tell......and remember our doors are always open if you ever wish to visit. Free tour guide is included.  =)
