38 Week Belly Post

How far along: 38 Weeks
Size of the baby:  Around 19.75 inches and 6.8 lbs. About the size of a leek.
Total weight gain/loss: Total of 34lbs! I feel like 10 of those pounds are in my feet and ankles!! =(
Maternity clothes: No buying maternity cloths for this girl! I just keep making what I have work. Not too much longer before Alexander gets here and hopefully I can start buying somewhat normal cloths!
Cravings: Chick Fil-A's spicy chicken sandwich...yummmmy!!!
Symptoms: Sleeping good and feeling overall quite well for being large and in charge, EXCEPT for my feet! I think this week is my last week at work. I really wanted to push it to the very end but my feet are paying the price and Josh and I agreed its just not worth it. The swelling is not a pretty site! =( At my 37 week appointment I have remained at a fingertip dilation (0.5cm). =( So no progress for this lil one, which means we have a little while longer. This past weekend Josh and I started walking 2.5 miles after the sun sets and I have started to feel some minor contractions. I think we are going to try to do this more often in the upcoming week to try to get baby in the mood to start moving & I am sooo bringing on the SPICY FOOD! I think its obvious I am soooo READY!
Movements: Surprised he can still move the way he is with such limited space. I know he is big because when I feel him move I can feel him on opposite ends of my stomach. I am starting to wonder when he is going to get tired of the lack of room?!?
Gender: BOY!

Alexander's Nursery

Well I finally got around to posting pictures of the nursery. I kept putting it off because I kept adding more to the to do list. I wanted to make sure most of the details for the room were complete before taking  pictures of the final product. All I have left to do is to add some pictures of Alexander into some of the empty frames. For once I have finished an entire room in our home!  =)  I have to say it feels so good and I have had sooo much fun putting this room together. Josh has been sooo amazing throughout these last 3 months and he has really learned to become quite the handyman. =)

His room to me is so soft and sweet, with some definite boy touches and I can't wait to bring Alexander home to make it complete! Here are pics of the old guest bedroom and Josh starting to get the room ready for Alexander back in February......

Proud Father!

and here are pictures of Alexander's room....

I was able to use some of the Houston baby shower decor
for his room since the colors and style fit his room perectly!
This is one of the wreaths and letters from the shower.
In the shadow box are my mittens & booties and
my Mother's bib that was made by my grandmother. They didn't know
with either one of us if we were going to be a boy or girl so
we happen to have some blue baby cloths to display from the family.
Sooo very special!!
& a couple of Alexander's precious outfits that have
been given to us as gifts....LOVE!!!
Mia hanging out in Alexander's room!

This is the changing tray Catherine had her Mother-in-law
paint for us! STUNNING!! I think its my favorite part of the room!
The sweet Monogram and story of a lil boy that wraps around the top of the tray
is so special and I know we will cherish this forever!!
Thank you!!!

Mia posing again for another picture in A's Room
I used some of the Mason jars from the shower to put some of
A's essentials.   The drawers are full of the most adorable outfits and
personalized burp cloths that are washed and ready to use!

Pin Board with baby pictures of Josh and I                   Alexander's closet with already washed,
                                 &                                                                       ready to wear cloths.
soon Alexander will be up there  as well!

Look at all the books we got from the Shower....He is going to be a
smart little boy thanks to everyone!

Love his Monogram and the two softest stuffed
animals I have EVER felt!
We hope Alexander likes to travel as much as his parents do.
The four pictures are maps of Oklahoma/Texas, Greece/Turkey,
Poland, & El Salvador....All these places have a lot of meaning
to us and are very much apart of Josh and I in some way or another.
 &
Alexander's adorable chair that was gifted by our dear friends back in Tulsa
who threw us  our Tulsa baby shower! He can sit there and think about what places
in the world he would like to visit some day!

37 Week Belly Post

How far along: 37 Weeks
Size of the baby:  Around 19.25 inches and 6.3 lbs. About the size of a swiss chard.
Total weight gain/loss: Not sure how much more I have gained. My 37 week appointment is not until  Wednesday.
Maternity clothes: No buying maternity cloths for this girl! I just keep making what I have work. Not too much longer before Alexander gets here and hopefully I can start buying somewhat normal cloths!
Cravings: Still loving the DANG SWEETS!
Symptoms: I've realized the heat in Houston does not help the swelling! =( I have to try to stay cool and off my feet as much as I can, which is virtually impossible because I like to stay busy. This week I start my three day work week and I am trying to make it a point to take it easy on my days off, now that I essentially have everything ready. I really have no excuse.
Movements: His movements have become painful at times. I find him crammed under my ribs often when I sit, while squishing my bladder at the same time! The boy LOVES to curl up on my right side and when he does so, I find myself with limited room to BREATH! I seriously think he is running out of room.
Gender: BOY!

Maternity Pictures

So here are our Maternity Pictures by the fabulous Sara Jensen! She did such an amazing job and Josh and I really felt like she captured such a special time in our lives. We are so happy with the way all the pictures turned out and we know we will cherish them forever.

Sara was wonderful to work with and as you can tell she is incredibly talented!  We look forward to working with her again soon because she will be taking Alexander's newborn pictures, along with our first pictures as a family of 3 (well four, including Mia). =)
So Stay tuned....
