It's not like you can't go out and buy a dryer here in Poland or any other European Country for that matter. People here are just used to hang drying their cloths and they believe it helps to keep their cloths in top condition. I definitely miss having a dryer, especially when it comes to our bedding but I will say I have gotten really good at ironing. Something I was not entirely good at before I moved.
Josh and I have also mastered the public transportation here in Warsaw. Since we are here temporarily and live right in the middle of the city, there is no need for a car. The metro, trams, and buses literally take us anywhere we need to go. So Josh and I have our monthly transportation passes and we just come and go as we please.

Since we don't have a car that means grocery shopping can be tricky. Most of the people here are used to doing their grocery shopping every couple of days, limiting the amount of bags to carry home. In Poland you must pay for your plastic bags, so always having your shopping bags with you is essential. I have learned to always carry one with me in my purse. You never know when you might need to just pick something up.

When my mother and Edy came to visit they came home one day and surprised me with a "little lover" as Edy would say. Edy has lived in Germany for about 5 years and swears by her little cart. She says she never leaves her home with out it, thus how she ended up naming it her "little lover. I had been resisting the urge to buy one because to be honest, most of the older women here are the ones that carry their little carts everywhere they go. But after having one, I really can't imagine going back. Who cares what people think! It's too convenient to pass up and I love that I can just fill that puppy up and bring it back home with no problems. Sometimes if I get too lazy I just resort to online grocery shopping. Talk about SUPER convenient especially for all the heavy items like Mia's food.

So now you see how spoiled we are in our beautiful land of America! We really have it easy and we should never take what we have for granted. All though all these changes have been difficult at times I have found great independence and new perspective on the way people live their life here. And believe it or not I have learned to really appreciate it.
Here are a few interesting facts about Poland that I was not aware of before we moved:
* Did you know that when we first moved to Warsaw the sun was completely gone by 3:30pm. The winter days are short in Poland and the nights are VERY long.
* At the hight of the summer the sunlight will stay out until 10pm and will reappear about 4am in the morning. Josh and I will have to invest in some black-out shades for our bedroom windows soon.
