Alexander is 3 Months! and here is what he has been up to....
* Rolling over from front to back (Tummy time ends fast now that he knows his new trick!)
* Is able to stay awake for about 1 15min before getting tired and crabby
* Loves to look at Mommy & Daddy's faces and thinks its hilarious
* Sitting in the Bumbo for short amounts of time
* Is taking about 4.5-5oz of breast milk every 3 to 4 hours, with a 6 oz bottle for bedtime (my son
prefers plastic =( so I'm having to work hard at pumping throughout the day and middle of
the night to make sure he gets breast milk. Breastfeeding has been a constant struggle with him since
day one but were making this work! )
* Has discovered his hands and is constantly putting them in his mouth (at times I wonder if he
is teething)
* Personality is def starting to show and is smiling and giggling more often, but don't mess with his
food or sleep schedule because he will show you whats up! ha
* He is making all kinds of noises, coo's, squeals, and yells
* Is a champ at napping & most of the time if Mom gets him in bed at the right time, has no problem
putting himself to sleep
* Sleeps about 8 hours before waking up for a feed (usually from 8pm-4am) but goes right
back down for another 3.5 to 4 hours. I'm trying to figure out if we can work on omitting the 4am
feed. I've started to offer him his pacifier at that feed instead of a bottle and I have been successful
several times, so I am not sure if he is waking up out of habit or out of hunger. We shall see.
* Loves looking at himself in the mirror
* Freaks out when his bottle is done. It takes a minute or so for him to realize he's full and then he is
happy as a clam
* Just switched him to size 2 diapers because of the recurrent blow outs...MAN this boy can POOP!
* Is outgrowing (in length) some of his 0-3 month cloths
* Still being swaddled (bc his crazy arm movements during sleep wake him up)
* Laughs/smiles when I dangle my hair in his face and kiss on his Belly
* Loves his pacifier
* Has slept about 9.5 hours straight at night only a few times
* Has had several blow outs including in his car seat, on his Grandpa Bill, & His Mommy! Ohhh the
Joys of Mommyhood!
