Switzerland

Well Sister, Josh, and I had a wonderful Easter weekend in Switzerland. Apparently we enjoyed better weather than what is normal for this time of the year. Lucky us! It remained sunny and in the 70's pretty much all weekend. There were times the sun was so fierce I wish I had brought a tank top and flip flops but I managed to make what I packed work.

After our visit, three words come to mind when I think of Switzerland 1. flawless scenery 2. chocolate and 3. EXPENSIVE. Let me start off by saying Switzerland is a GORGEOUS country! I think we arrived at the most perfect time of the year. Everything was so green and in bloom and lucky for us it made for some beautiful pictures. We enjoyed getting to drive through the beautiful mountains. I definitely recommend renting a car if you ever get to visit. Being able to stop and go as you please is a definite must.  It was so nice to be able to stop through charming towns with the cute little Swiss church that you so often picture when you think of Switzerland. I know I was so pleased to know that the picture I had always painted in my mind was actually true. It was fun having our own agenda and just taking in the adventure as it unfolded.

We also ate LOTS and LOTS of chocolate! Ohh my. From the moment we boarded our flight we were given our first complimentary piece of Swiss heaven. There is a reason Switzerland is known for their chocolate because even the airplane chocolate was to DIE for. I swear, everywhere we went, chocolate was upon us.  I even think more than normal was floating around because of Easter. Chocolate eggs, Chocolate bunnies, Chocolate's in our hotel rooms, Chocolate sprinkled over our coffee. Seriously OHH MY!!!

Although just about anyone could spend weeks driving through all of the beautiful mountains and visiting all the perfect little towns, our pocket books would not have been able to make it! By far Switzerland has been one of the most expensive countries Josh and I have ever been to. The irony of this trip is that since we bought our flights last minute, we searched for the cheapest flight we could find in Europe for Easter Weekend. That is when we came upon Switzerland. Well I am pretty sure we could have gone anywhere else and still spent less. That is how expensive it is there.  But our motto all weekend was, when are we ever going to get the chance to do this again? So we made sure to enjoy the time we had there and we just bit the bullet when it came to ordering a $12 10oz beer!  We are pretty sure we won't be making it back anytime soon. In less the next trip is payed for or we are just willing to spend BIG $$$.  Nonetheless we enjoyed our 4 days in Beautiful Switzerland.

Hope you enjoy the pictures because there are a lot of them.
