28 Week Belly Post

How far along: 28 Weeks: I have officially started my 3rd and FINAL trimester! WOOO HOOO!!!
Size of the baby:  Around 14.8 inches and 2.25 lbs. About the size of a chinese cabbage.
Total weight gain/loss: So far I am aware of a total of 19 lbs. We will see at my next appointment how much more I have officially gained. I start going to my doctor for my routine check ups every two weeks after this next one. CRAZY!
Maternity clothes: Still going strong with one pair of maternity jeans & leggings. Have refrained myself from buying Maternity shirts but plan on digging in some friends closets for some maternity wear soon when I get really helpless and big! Can't make myself purchase maternity cloths when I just have 3 more months to go!
Cravings: Salt and vinegar chips and tiny boxwoods chocolate chips cookes. I LOVE these even when I am not pregnant but I find myself foaming at the mouth more than usual when I think about them. This past weekend we got to throw our Dear friend Emily, a baby shower and I ate more than my fair share of tiny boxwoods cookies. I was SOO BAD!!! But it was SOOO GOOD!!!
Symptoms: Heel pain has died down for whatever reason and lower back has been good. I worked 5 days in a row this past week, which means I was on my feet for 8 hours, 5 days in a row and I surprisingly did well, maybe my body is getting used to all this new weight. I must say though,  I have felt pretty good and although I whine at times I really have to be thankful because I know it could be a lot worse! Last weekend I started to feel my first episode of possible indegistion. I feel like its hard to eat much in one sitting these days because everything is pushing up on my stomach and lungs. I also feel a little short of breath after having a big meal so I have been trying to eat smaller portions through out the day. Every now and then after a meal I feel a very mild burning sensation rising in the the back of my throat, which makes me think that I am getting the early signs of heartburn. I have never had this issue before but hopefully it doesn't get too bad!
Movements: Alexander definitely has his active periods where I am completely baffled. Most of the time its in the evening when I have settled down to relax.  At times I am stunned with his movements!  Its no longer a little punch here or little kick there. It is like waves of complete body movements. At times I feel like I could be feeling actual body parts. It is such an unbelievable feeling and Josh and I are having so much fun getting to feel him move around at night! The other day I felt him give me a few hard kicks all the way up in my ribs, which makes me think he is pretty high up. I think that would explain the full feeling and shortness of breath after my meals these days. Ohh the Joys of Pregnancy!
Gender predictions: BOY!

Took a really quick pic before bedtime so
I had to crop the scary, very exhausted face!

Alexander Cole Manard

AMC
I think we have finally settled on a name! I don't think we realized how hard it was going to be to name our child. Now we just need to make a final decision on how baby Manard will be called.  I LOVE the name Alexander Cole but we are still bantering back and forth on whether he will be called "Alex" or "Cole". The reason I really loved this name is because it is honoring the two greatest Men in my life, my Father being Alejandro and Cole being Josh's middle name. At first I wasn't sure about calling him Cole, but after time it has REALLY started to grow on me and as for Alex, I've always loved that name because it is so classic and strong. One thing is for sure (at least pretty sure for now), is that his full name will be Alexander Cole Manard. We might just wait until his birth to see what name suits him the best. Although it puts a small damper on monograming for his nursery, at least we have his initials. I kind of like the idea of waiting to meet him before making the final decision anyways.

So folks, it looks like we will just have to wait a little longer and see what the final verdict turns out to be!

26 Week Belly Post

How far along: 26 Weeks
Size of the baby:  Around 14 inches and 1.75 lbs. About the size of a hothouse cucumber.
Total weight gain/loss: I found out at my 26 week appointment that I have gained another 4 lbs since my 21 week appointment. Totaling a grand total of 19 lbs! Although I feel like I have gained on the higher end my doctor continues to tell me that I am gaining within normal range. So I have decided not to stress out about it too much and just continue to eat as healthy as I can.
Maternity clothes: Still sticking with one pair of maternity jeans & leggings, and have not purchased any other maternity cloths. I am lucky that during the week I get to wear scrubs, so running out of options for cloths hasn't really been an issue for the weekends because I can still wear most of my shirts. I just have make sure I wear a long undershirt.
Cravings: Margarita, Beer, or Wine...but I can't indulge in these until this summer. =(
Symptoms: Still dealing with heel pain from standing on my feet all day at work. I think my poor feet definitely feel the extra 19 lbs I am carrying around and in my profession where standing is a must all day, I tend to suffer more than I think most would . I am still using the Doctor Scholls foot inserts for my shoes and it is still managing to alleviate some of that pressure that I tend to feel these days.  I also think I overdid it last weekend with the move of the guest bedroom to the downstairs bedroom. Although I didn't do much heavy lifting (that was Josh's job), I still went up 3 flights of stairs continuously througout the day and my legs and lower back payed for it the next 3 days. I have to say its so hard to take it easy when I have so much I feel like I can and want to do. I think most can attest (including my poor husband) that I am in MAJOR nesting mode! So far the crib has been put together, light fixture is up, baby chair is in the room, and changing table is built. I have also managed to bring in some accessories into the room and get the closet organized. There is still so much to do but I feel as though we have accomplished a lot already and that makes me one happy Momma! Bedding comes in this week and I am SUPER EXCITED! Can't wait to show you guys pictures soon....
Movements: Baby boy is more active then ever and I hear that the peak of activity is approaching (around 28 weeks). Its so common to feel him throughout the day, mostly after I eat or sit down to relax and especially at night when its time to go to bed. Josh and I are seeing my belly make same crazy movements these days and I can definitely say that he has become stronger within the last 2 weeks.
Gender predictions: BOY!
